When Rebecca Meitlis completed her training as a Feldenkrais Practitioner she decided to focus her practice on performers building on her professional experience in Opera and Creative Learning.

As well as giving classes and individual sessions to the general public, she is a Teaching Fellow and part-time lecturer at the Royal Northern College of Music. visiting professor at the Polish National Opera’s Opera Academy in the Teatr Wielki,Warsaw, gives classes at Glyndebourne Festival Opera , and is a visiting teacher Westminster Cathedral Choir School and Bedales Senior School.

Her career in opera began when she was awarded an Arts Council England bursary to train as a director with Scottish Opera. In 1984 she became a staff director at English National Opera. Over the following years she worked on many productions and directed several acclaimed revivals. At ENO she co-founded and directed the learning and participation department, the Baylis Programme. Since leaving ENO in 1995 she has worked in a freelance capacity for many arts and education organisations including Youth Music and Creative Partnerships has been in residence at the Grotowski Institute of Theatre Research in Wroclaw.

Rebecca gives weekly classes in Lewes, that are open to everyone and one to one sessions in my garden studio in Hamsey.

Rebecca is a member of the Feldenkrais Guild UK, the professional organisation responsible for standards of practice, and subscribe to their Code of Ethics and requirement of professional insurance.
